Outrage Erupts in Memecoin Community: Unforeseen Alterations in Polkadot’s Memecoin Distribution

The Polkadot-backed memecoin, DED, has recently ignited a wave of Memecoin community outrage. The outrage was triggered by substantial modifications in the airdrop allocation of the latest memecoin. Initially, the entire token supply was promised to be distributed through the airdrop, however, this allocation was radically cut down to a mere 5%. Giotto De Filippi, one of the developers, justified this modification, stating that the change was implemented to ensure a lengthier financial runway for the memecoin. DED caught the public’s attention on March 23rd, when the Polkadot community launched the memecoin as a strategy to capitalize on the growing memecoin craze and draw more interest to the Polkadot ecosystem. Investors who held Polkadot (DOT) were initially promised 36 DED tokens for each 1 DOT they held. The unexpected reduction in airdrop allocation left a significant number of the Memecoin community feeling deceived and discontent, leading to their outrage.
